Freelancer background : I've been playing Freelancer off and on (mostly on) for the better part of the last three years. After hearing about the game from a friend I found the demo and promptly downloaded it while pouring through gameplay vids and screenshots.
Upon completion of the download I started her up, skipped the intro movies and started a new game.
From the moment I left Manhattan for the first time after returning from the Freeport 7 disaster, I knew that I would be spending a lot of time in this universe.
After about 30 minutes of playing and maxing out the demo, I bought the full version online for $15 then went back to exploring every nook and cranny in the NY system.
I tried various waypoint grids to be sure that i had mapped every inch. I also made it a point to explore the system above and below the plane of the ecliptic. Finding nothing of interest, I honed my PvNPC skills against Rogues and Xenos alike.
Then I made a new game and did just the opposite. Finding safety at both Buffalo and Rochester base, I learned to evade those pesky LPI and LSF flunkies at every turn.

That was just the demo.

Then I came home from work to a package by the door.

From that point on...

...well, I suppose you'd call me an addict.
Mapping everything i could find in Vanilla. Taking notes in case the nav map forgot my way. I'll be the first to admit that a LOT of my single player time was spent with Difficulty set to 0.00 in perfoptions.ini...but...my lack of battle skills is hopefully going to be taken care of via training, while I'm sure that my complete exploration of Crosfire 1.81 (including Inner Core, DK systems, Lost Paradise, Hyperspace, and literally everything in between) will come in handy.

I've met several SA members in space and from the people I've talked to, I think that I would fit in rather well with you guys.
I hope that you agree.

my original name in January was ZerothDimension (i'm still in the server list three hundred and somethingth)...and when i lost my mpid and went to disco for a bit (haven't done the dual installs but i might try that soon)...i ended up spending the most time in my luxury yacht character: Incognito...since he was a retired miner turned explorer...i had all the cash i needed from mining occasionally...so i just ran around meeting people.

the friend i left CF to play discovery with (he couldn't get his CF install to let him into MP despite me walking him through several reinstalls...after a few days i brought him to discovery...he was a complete freelancer noob...)
well...he stopped playing discovery for some other game...and i really missed CF...

so...i became incognito...

but i made Zeroth as an homage to my previous incarnation...and i figure that will work well here.

as far as flying together today...that was a blast.

well...at least for dealing with you flying that ship in that atmosphere...

gonna take a lot more fights with a lot more pros before i show real promise.

i'm gonna start picking friendly fights with strangers.

PvP update:

I've been sparring with Your_uncle and (IOC)Bugma in Arena lately.

Got my butt handed to my 5 times in a row by uncle.

Then i managed to take us both out at the same time.

Then i won 3 in a row.

I hope this means i'm getting better, and not just luckier.

the difference between better and luckier is decided over many days... ^^ but i bet you get better, every single fight is a place to get better !

The best test will be a training session with [CFPD]Michael. If you spot him you can ask him for training and don't forget to tell him you're SA Recruit !

Mike give me very good advices. It need only time to learn how best use it and use it automatically in fight.

i know mike, he loaned me 10mil when i first started in january, and i couldn't remember who i owed when i came back...

i've already introduced myself to him as an SA recruit, and we've spoken plenty of times already.

Permission granted to create SA tagged chars in preparation for official graduation on Saturday the 17th of July 2010.

As far as SA tagged names here is what i have so far:

SA_Scout_ZEROTH
Currently a Shroud. General purpose explorer. Available for light to moderate battle support. Will be the ship used for most mapping, will not always be guaranteed to be in the immediate vicinity, but is able to return to area of interest via fastest possible route, ignoring any enemies along the way.

SA_Prophet_ZEROTH
Currently Werewolf from Planet Pittsburgh, after server restart, will become an APC for making quick cash to finish off any fine tuning on new chars. Will be stationed only in Manhattan and will act as a personal storage unit, able to travel...but if carrying expensive items, may defer any necessary actions to another ZEROTH vessel, even if said vessel is further away from objective. Basically a safe ship.

SA_Fighter_ZEROTH
To be created. Will be used for dueling, pvp conflicts, assigned patrols. Will always be a capable VHF loaded for bear. Will always be docked within quick access of X-3043 (within reason) for immediate deployment as needed.

SA_Incognito_ZEROTH

A single word : don't lose your money in making an storage APC.... Keep the APC running out there and create a seperate SA_Storage_ZEROTH char instead (rhino). No need to put a dime on the Storage ship if it never leaves Manhattan's sky

So havign one char suggestion done (storage), i propose to you to WAIT before takign the last slot : may be you'll want to try a capship, a train for bigger freight profit or an EM char perhaps ! Who knows may be you will discover the taste for hosting server events We are always looking for available and dedicated Event Managers, may be it'll be your call !

No rush anyway !

As of right now, my Scout is a Fyrefly parked at Murmansk.

(IOC)Bugma and i wanted to head back to Altair since he hadn't explored all of the newer systems there...so i figured that i could combine mapping, and being a tour guide.

The reason for the APC rather than a rhino is that it's storage/grinding for credits.

I can make more money and simultaneously help more noobs chatting and grinding a route in NY with my APC than i could with another ship.

When i have the spare cash, i plan on upgrading that account to a Soulforge Train.

Why waste an entire account on storage when it can be used for making money, helping noobs AND storage all at once?
(can't make that kind of cash in a rhino )

At any rate, i'm open to suggestions for new chars, and as of right now i've only created 2.

Zeroth and Incognito have been deleted, while NemesisZero still remains until i am able to trade items off again.

ok well under the assumption the trade routes in NY will remain a while its all good to go with it... (but trade routes will change eventually)

by then i'll have more than made up for the cost of the APC, i'm sure....hehe
