Inner Core Expedition #2550 - 02/05/11

ATTENTION ALL SILVER ARROWS PILOTS:
Several months ago, a clandestine mission was conducted by a Silver Arrows secret infiltration wing in the Inner Core sector, the Venn system, of which they performed a planet drop on planet Lerth of our new SAL prototype S.A.B.U. unit of which is essentially SA_LOYAL, in a massive and powerful new mech body, with state of the art prototype weapons exclusive to the battle frame. His solo mission is of recon of planet-side forces, appropriation of enemy communications intelligence, enemy network mainframe hacking and finally, search and destroy of the United Dom Occupation forces main communications array. He is also testing our new stealth and cloaking electronics suite, of which since he is still operational, gives credence that this system is working beautifully!

However, our job is still yet to be completed, we must perform an extraction in orbit of the planet in order to retrieve LOYAL and his databank of gathered enemy intelligence. He has already as of yesterday, completed his final objective in that the communications array is destroyed and he is now in hiding, awaiting for the extraction team in orbit.

Therefore, we are going to need an assault transport with an accompanying extraction team on-board along with an accompanying attack and escort wing to get into position at planet Lerth for approximately 15 minutes to perform extraction of LOYAL from the planet's surface. All fighter escorts must hold off enemy fighters and capital ships from destroying the assault transport while it is performing the extraction maneuvers. From there we can head on straight to Weth and return to the Sirius sector later for eventual return to the SAOC for LOYAL's downloading, repairs and refit.

Target area of operations is near planet Lerth at the coordinates 4D in the Venn system. Thankfully there are several repair buoys nearby.

(Objective: Protect and escort the assault transport to planet Lerth in the Venn system, guard the assault transport while it is stationary in orbit near planet Lerth for 15 minutes for LOYAL's extraction. Destroy any and all alien vessels attempting to destroy the assault transport, guard it at all costs! Escort and protect the assault transport with LOYAL onboard to Mirtrrak Battlestation in Weth to complete the mission! NOTE: The assault transport is recommended to be either a APC Transport or a Bullpup MKIII)

Commander Connor O'Neill reporting in. My CrystalRunner's drive is spooled up. The Bullpup MKIII is ready to extract SA_LOYAL. I recommend that you have a backup transport standing by, though, as we've got something happening on Sprague that may require my immediate attention. (My dad may not let me get on).

What time will the mission commence? I shall be in training (school) from 1400 hours to 2200 hours on that day (server time).

Hehe... It finished just before you said that sir. So your post is out of date... I had to be the Transport ship With my Osiris. I also got 250 more Energy crystals. And along the way I Ate a couple of repair bouys too . They didn't taste too great. I also tried to eat orion. But he was to Fidgety so He couldn't get eaten. I ate Maverick twice though... Anyway. Enough about what I eat. What have you eaten today?

THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS FOR YOUR EYES ONLY!

SUBJECT: Inner Core Expedition 02-04-3011

CC: Silver Arrows Command, planet Manhattan, New York System, Silver Arrows Operation Command Center, GMG Hypergate Station, Omega-3, Vice-Admiral Sam Thomas, "ARROW"

RE: Report on our completed mission objectives and current status.

MISSION PILOTS:Rear Admiral Ryleous Arkane, callsign "ORION" (Mission Leader), Commander Peter Kirkland, callsign "FUD", Lieutenant Tucker Griffin, callsign "MAVERICK", Lieutenant Balthazar Andersen, callsign "TWC", Lt.-Commander Unit OE-254 (S.A.B.U.), callsign "LOYAL" (as a NPC-mission objective)

SYNOPSIS: At roughly 3:00pm CDT, I gave orders for FUD and MAVERICK already in Omega-3 to enter the Hypergate and meet me at the Venn gate in the Inner Core system, as I already had my Scout5 Gunship there waiting for them. TWC later informed me he was arriving from Weth as well and caught up with us later near planet Lerth.

The mission orders had specified a APC Transport or a Bullpup MKIII for this mission, however the only ship available for carrying a large cargo was Fud's Osiris, the Double Decker. So making due with what assets we had available and considering the fact it was heavily armored and armed, it was actually sounding like a good idea, so kudos to Commander Kirkland and his capship the Double Decker!

So once we were assembled at the Inner Core gate in the Venn system I gave the mission orders and briefing. I gave Fud the lead since his capship is much faster in cruise and we set off for the first nav point, a nearby repair buoy not far from planet Lerth our area of operations and finally met up with our last mission pilot, TWC.

With my extraction escort wing assembled and the extraction team prepared on-board the Double Decker, we set off for the light-side of planet Lerth to get into proper position for the extraction team's dropship for LOYAL's retrieval.

Within minutes of our positioning in low-orbit over planet Lerth and the clock began as the extraction team's dropship landed on the planet's surface, we were almost immediately jumped by a entire Dom' Nepesh battle group! Needless to say I was a little phased, I did not expect such heavy resistance so quickly! Regardless, I gave orders for everyone to concentrate fire on the mothership and drive it off or destroy it if at all possible. The fighting for the next few moments was pretty fierce and frantic, I know everyone was getting pounded by the capships, save the Double Decker which was unloading salvo after salvo of long-range turret fire. Finally after we gave the Dom' Nepesh mothership a good bit of hull damage they incredibly moved away and out of range, I assume they must have had level personnel on board who thought that we would be a push-over haha! I'm just glad we had the Double Decker there and Commander FUD to give us some much needed long-range fire support! After that harrowing battle things quieted down a bit... That is until the last 5 minutes or so before the extraction was completed. We were again intercepted this time by a Dom' Setek light fighter squadron of which put up a good fight, but finally as we were winding down to the final minute of the extraction team's retrieval, we destroyed the last fighter.

FINALLY, the call came to my ship from the Extraction Team BRAVO, they had LOYAL in the dropship onboard in the cargo on the Double Decker and all was secured for EVAC. I gave the order, Commander FUD ordered the Double Decker in sublight and we hastily exited the area of operations as another squadron was advancing. We thankfully got out of the system with little opposition until we got to the Jormdar system... Things got kinda hairy there and TWC was recalled and ordered back to Mirtrrak by the SAC for an emergency situation, of which put us down to only two escort ships and FUD and his Double Decker with Loyal on-board.

As we arrived in Jormdar, we met with minimal resistance right up until we got the Mepther gate of which an Sentinel attack squadron. When we had met the Sentinel squadron I had ordered FUD to go back to the repair buoy while we took out the enemy fighters, as we could not afford to lose the Double Decker, BRAVO extraction team or LOYAL on-board. During this time as we finally destroyed the last fighter, TWC recieved his re-call notice and special orders from the SAC and immediately left for Mirtrrak Battlestation in Weth ahead of us. Finally we regrouped back up with FUD and the Double Decker at the Mepther gate and continued to make our way to Weth, down to two escort fighters. Thankfully the rest of the mission from that point was pretty smooth sailing and not much to report. Once we cleared the Weth gate in Ryssk and arrive in Weth with no enemy United Dom gunboats to greet us, we knew we were clear and I congratulated everyone for a mission well done. Commander FUD and the Double Decker moored, repaired and prepared for the trip back to Altair and eventually Sirius at Mirtrrak Battlestation, MAVERICK and I both landed as well and repaired, reloaded and got ready for a "hunting excursion" in Jormdar in the search for Savage alien-tech weaponry.
