Ceremony on Manhattan

"The Silver Arrows Command is proud to reward its most involved and talented members with a round of special promotions tonight", started SA Chief Officer, Vice-Admiral Sam Thomas, yesterday night at a ceremony given on Manhattan. Indeed, the Silver Arrows Command proceeded to an award giving ceremony in the occasion of the Summer General Reunion.

Amongst the dozen of rewarded officers, few attracted the attention :

"The first promotion for tonight is given to Mr. Ryleous Arkane ! He is promoted from Lieutenant-Commander and skips a rank to become Captain. His experience, excellency in duty and involvement towards the SA, our allies and the citizens of Sirius prove his worth of bearing this insigna."

"The second promotion is given to Mr. Martind Forlon ! He keeps being involved in many Silver Arrows projects including the CrossfireDB and gives a lot of his time to the community. He is a talented pilot and a great individual so he deserves to be promoted from Lieutenant-Commander to the rank of Captain !"

"The Silver Arrows Command also promotes Lady Élodie Vox and Mr. Owen Mason to the rank of Lieutenant. As Ensigns, their work and great participation in all aspects of their job was astonishing. They deserve their promotion well, it has been a while since we haven't seen such talented and strongly engaged members in our organization. They shall be regarded as examples to follow by future generations."

"The Silver Arrows also upgrades unit OE-254 with superior subroutines allowing him to assume the role of a Lieutenant. To the great joy of the Cambridge Labs cybernetic specialists who conceived LOYAL, his learning capabilities work better than planned because he gave more than its original programming was allowing him to. Some would not consider him a true Officer but in my eyes, he definitely is a valuable member of the Silver Arrows."

Later in the evening, Vice-Admiral William Robertson, Director of the Department of Staff and Resources spoke to the crowd :

"Following these promotions, the Department of Staff and Resources announces that the current fighter wings will be rearranged to balance forces amongst our ranks. Vice-Admiral Sam Thomas will remain in charge of Alpha Wing with newly promoted Captain Ryleous Arkane keeping his position of First Officer. One of the major change is that Commander Martind Forlon will be assigned to Beta to second Captain Cañones. Replaced by FORLON as Beta_Two, Commander Emmanuel Rau will be put in charge of the special long-term expeditions in Sigma Wing. Lieutenant Nathaniel Valentine will assume First Officer position."

Director Robertson also reported about the growth of the Protector Fleet :

"We have commissioned new Capital Ships over the last months. Joining the SA flagship Discovery are other Osiris class Battleships Nike and Incognito. Additonnaly, we put in service the GrafSpee, a powerful Rheinland class Cruiser to take down small and fast fighters. In response to heavily armored alien motherships encountered in previous expeditions in the Inner Core, the Silver Arrows has started a new bomber project aiming to create a recognizable strike force able to take any capital ship down in few salvos. Either alien fleets or CSF blockades will no longer pose a threat to this new unit."

Vice-Admiral Sam Thomas also announced few changes in the Silver Arrows Department Directors :

"Sadly, a great man is leaving us next month. Indeed, after a long and successful career, Admiral Andrew Fitzgerald is retiring. He will be enjoying life with his grand children on his home planet, Houston. To take his place in charge of the Department of Commerce and Economics, I appointed Captain Nicolás Salvador Cañones. Moving Captain Cañones leaves the seat of Director of Operations open so I elected newly promoted Captain Ryleous Arkane to this position. Captain Arkane has seen more than its share of operations in terrible conditions in the past and will be very good in this function. In addition, Vice-Admiral William Robertson, that everyone here knows for signing their pay checks, has applied to lead a new project. He will still be seen around the SAC on Manhattan but will become too busy with this new project to keep assuming his role of Director of Staff and Resources. I decided to give his Director role to Captain Martind Forlon. Captain Forlon showed great people skills in his Recruitment Officer job and will be the best to deal with the Silver Arrows staff."

On his final speech, Vice-Admiral Thomas thanked everyone for their sacrifices and participation in the SA efforts. All present members in the room observed a moment of silence for their comrades lost in battle before closing the ceremony.
