The new logo

After numerous complaints (76932 and still counting...) i dropped the not so new logo now and introduced the following one :


It now respects the required characteristics : pointy, shiny, looking like an arrow, be hot !

Also notice the new glass banner i finally got right ! made the posts use the same glass background to fit. Looks a little darker but i feel it's not gonna hurt your eyes much.

As for more news, i'm on good way with that siggy generator thingy but it'll take longer to fit with the intended SA website...

..header I definitely want see on PC, in phone no chance for exact feeling, but looks interesting.

Request: can you do a siggy example with a dark background, it might be the purple that is putting me off from the new design

I like the header, but is the 2 big logos suppose to be that big? It just doesn't look right to me

I like the text on the right but can we maybe put some red into the text, it just needs something

Header glass now looks really nice! . And our logo rotated 45 and little resized for header height + also little resized ASF can looks much better.

I liked the Original more Sorry to have to say it but I honestly do... On both of them. I like the siggys to be more traditional then modern and shiny... Sorry... Also, I thought our original logo was perfect The original looks like an arrow but has the sence of lightening giving it the effect that we are fast and powerful. Wherever an alien lies. we are there in a flash of lightening at the speed of an arrow. We will hit them with force and with such a technique. they will not even see us comming. Which is also why the logo is not a complete arrow. Because you only see the blur of one of us

The logo you have there is semetrical and has the carbon fibre effect in the center.... You might as well has it hollowed out and have a hole in the middle.

The symbol we use now is more filled with pride and honor. Something that wants to be there and make everyone know it is there... That would be good if we were a Cop... But we are Mercs now and IMO the original was better.

It is just my opinion...

Plus, isn't the banner a bit grey now :/

no hard feelings Fud i'll maybe consider dropping the center carbon in favor of this hole you proposed No matter how much i LOOOVEEE carbon, it might be the least SilverArrows-looking texture.

As for the banner, you might have noticed that most of the forum look is now mainly made of shades of grey with very few color accents. The goal in this is to stick to grey/red/black/white SA palette and even more to put YOUR siggies, avatars and images in contrast The life sparkles of this forum must come from all of you, not from an artificial rainbow styling. My opinion i guess

interesting, try it without carboon texture can also looks nice.

White is every colour put together :/ So surely other colours won't matter as it is part of the colour white anyway.

Anyway, The Banner and logo does not affect us as people or individuals. But it does affect our first impression to other people. So the Banner has to be atractive, simple and gives the point across. Ok, it has our clan name at least But were is our motto?

Plus, Changing our apperance is going to confuse people. When I see he old SA Symbol I thought instantly SA! But this new one reminds me of... Resistance XD Dunno why.
I do not see anyone else change thier logo and things...

YOU GOT IT !!!! The Motto is missing up there ! and it might be cool to put THIS detail in color accents

The reason why we wish to change our logo is the same every business have to change theirs from time to time. We wish to mark a renewal and this goes thru a new logo and new internal structure. Don't worry, we aint scrapping it all, in fact you'll see it is the same exact thing we'll start from and work on it together. Yup "together" because we got for main goal, forlon, seqan and i, to lay the foundations of a clan that will allow more space to the members and also smoothen the structure to make the clan easier to adapt to changes YOU feel right for this clan. CF is in constant evolution and it just felt obvious that the clan got to do so too. (man there were many "o" in these last 5 words )

We got ourselves a deadline on dec 30th to present it to the members right after and then we'll make it public once agreed by the few loyal people left to start the 3012 campaign !

@Fud : before you ask, no, "giving more space to the members" doesn't mean you can decide to paint your ship with facepalm smilies

Just be patient i aint gonna say more....

Yea, I hear ya Sam, I'll have to get back with you all about the patches... Logo looks good though man, I dig it.

if you wish, i can create a side app of the Siggy Generator to make patches all automatic too

Although i'd have to get an algorithm working to place text in a curvy way. But i'm pretty confidnt to achieve this because we can write text in 360* angles with PHP's GD library function "imagettftext ( $image , $size , $angle , $x , $y , $color , $fontfile , $text )" so i guess a little calculations of the number of letters and the length of the word we could get the angle and x,y coords right for each letter

Hmmmm, well if you can make it happen, it would certainly simplify things and put the power to each SA member to create their own patch to their exact details. Win-win I'd say.
